How to Play How Well Do You Know Me?: Rules, Scoring and Tactics

The rules, scoring system and winning tactics of How Well Do You Know Me? — how to play it at a café on phones, with no sign-up, step by step.

How Well Do You Know Me? is where friendship claims get tested: each round one player is the 'focus', secretly answering a question about themselves while everyone else predicts their pick.

How to play

  1. A focus player rotates each round; a question with options appears for everyone (3-12 players).
  2. The focus secretly locks their true answer; AT THE SAME TIME the others lock their guesses — no waiting.
  3. The answer reveals: correct guessers score +1.
  4. If more than half guessed right, the focus earns a +1 'well-known bonus' too.

Scoring and winning

Everyone is the focus once (or twice); highest score wins. If the focus never answers, the round is void — nobody gains or loses. Questions are closed-ended (multiple choice), so 'well, that kind of counts' arguments can't happen.

Tactics that win the table

  • Guess the pattern, not the person: not 'what would they do' but 'which of THESE would they pick'.
  • As the focus, be honest — being known pays a bonus; playing tricky loses both the bonus and the table's trust.
  • Couples and best friends fall for the 'I obviously know' trap: your closest person surprises you most.

Who is it for?

Couples, housemates, core crews. Every session ends with at least one sweet 'you don't know me at all!' argument.
