How to Set Up a Free QR Menu for Your Cafe (No Monthly Fee)
A step-by-step guide to launching a free QR menu for your cafe: sign up with an email, get a permanent venue page, add your items, print the poster.
You want a QR code menu for your cafe. You do not want another monthly subscription sitting next to your card reader fees, your accounting software and your music license. Fair. Here is how to get a free QR menu up on your tables in about twenty minutes, and an honest account of where the catch is.
Step 1: Register with an email and nothing else
Go to /en/for-business and fill in the form. It asks for your venue name, your email, your country, and your city if you feel like it. That is the whole thing. No credit card, no sales call, no "book a demo" calendar.
Then check your inbox for a 6-digit code. Type it in and you are inside.
That code is your login — forever. There is no password to create, forget, write on a sticky note under the till, or reset at 8am on a Saturday. Every time you come back to /business/login you get a fresh code by email. Codes are good for 10 minutes and five attempts. Your session cookie lasts 30 days, so in practice you will rarely re-enter one.
Step 2: Meet your permanent address
The moment you register, your venue gets a fixed address: /k/your-venue-slug, built from your venue name.
That slug never changes. Not when you redesign, not when you upgrade, not when you change your mind about the tagline. This is deliberate, and it is the single most important detail on this page: a printed QR code is only as good as the URL it points to. If the address can move, your laminated table cards are one product decision away from being landfill.
Want to see a finished one before you type a single item? /en/k/demo is a real, fully-populated example venue (it runs on Pro, so it shows the branding and wheel too).
Step 3: Add the menu
The menu editor lives in the Menu tab of your panel. What you get, on the free plan, forever:
- Unlimited categories and items. Not "up to 30 items." Unlimited.
- Per item: name, description (120 characters per language), price and currency, a photo (up to 5 MB, JPEG/PNG/WebP), and an active/hidden toggle for when the flat white oat option runs out.
- Tags: up to 6 per item from a fixed set of seven — new, popular, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, spicy, chef.
- Up to 3 languages: one primary plus two extras, chosen from Turkish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Arabic. Guests see your primary language, or their own if it matches one of yours, and there is a switcher on the page.
On the guest side it renders as a digital menu with category tabs and a search box. No cart, no ordering, no payment — on purpose. It is a menu, not a delivery app. Your staff still take the order, which is usually the part of your cafe people actually came for.
Step 4: Download the poster kit and put it on the tables
The Marketing tab generates four PNGs, all free, all rendered right in your browser with no watermark step and no waiting:
- QR card, 1080×1080
- Instagram post, 1080×1080
- A5 poster, 1080×1350
- Instagram story, 1080×1920
Each comes in three styles — brand color, dark, or black-and-white mono — so the mono one prints cleanly on the office laser printer at 11pm. Every asset carries your venue name and a QR on a white panel with scanner brackets, so it stays scannable even on the dark version. All four point at the same permanent URL.
Print, cut, table. Done.
So what's the catch?
Two things, and that is genuinely the list.
One: a small powered-by Kafedeyim link in the footer of your venue page. It is always there, on every plan. That link is how this stays free instead of costing you $19 a month.
Two: there is an optional Pro plan. $19 or €19 a month, or ₺399 in Turkey, with the year at 10× the month. No free trial — we don't pretend otherwise.
Here is the honest split. Free forever: the whole menu, your venue page, the Wi-Fi card with an auto-join Wi-Fi QR, all 28 party games like taboo for your tables, your Instagram/Google-review/phone/address links, the full poster kit, two monthly counters, and a monthly recap email.
Pro adds four customer-facing things: the gift wheel actually spinning for guests, campaign banners actually showing, your logo and theme color on your page, and the detailed analytics — busy-hours chart, top games, wheel stats. You can configure the wheel and campaigns for free and see exactly what they'd look like before deciding. If you upgrade and later cancel, nothing is deleted; you drop back to free and your data waits for you.
That's it. No per-item limits creeping in at item 31, no "free tier" that turns into a trial.
Start now, decide later
The free QR menu is not bait. It is the product, and it will still be free next year.
Register your cafe at /en/for-business — venue name, email, one code from your inbox, and you're on your permanent page. Add the menu tonight, print the poster tomorrow, and worry about Pro whenever you actually feel like it.
